SFI was founded as a General Construction Firm in 1968 by Sabri Farah, a civil engineer graduated from the prestigious French School Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees in Paris and holder of a Doctorate in Soil Mechanics from the University of Grenoble (France).
As such, the firm executed many civil engineering projects, some considered as landmarks in modern Jordan like the University Hospital in Amman and stages I and II of Hussein Power Station in Zarka.
The sharp shortage in qualified workmanship caused by the oil boom in the mid-seventies lead SFI to start in 1977 the first, and still largest Precasting Plant in Jordan on a 70,000 m² parcel in Marka (a suburb of Amman).
The Plant has produced and is currently producing a variety of reinforced and/or prestessed concrete elements that were used to complete quickly and efficiently a large number of projects, including Housing Projects, Schools, Universities, Government, Commercial and Industrial Buildings, as well as Sport and Recreational projects.
For many consultants, contractors and clients in Jordan, precast is presently synonymous with SFI and vice-versa. SFI has been in fact involved, in one way or another, in practically all large projects in Jordan since 1978, the date at which SFI's precasting plant became operational. Since then, SFI has developed a solid know-how in design, fabrication and erection of precast concrete elements, including sophisticated systems for roofing and cladding elements.
SFI, with its tremendous technical and production possibilities, is presently in a position to help in executing the largest and most sophisticated projects, in the shortest time, with the best quality and at the lowest cost.
The company is currently operating under the supervision of the most highly prestigious international bodies such as PCI (Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute), ACI (American Concrete Institute), Fib (fédération internationale du béton / the International Federation for Structural Concrete) and IPHA (International Prestressed Hollowcore Association) and still building on its accumulative experience of 40+ years and has concreted its place as the precast reference in the Middle East.
